Ah, Friday’s finally here. Not that I was waiting for it though, after having had Monday and Tuesday off. But still. I’m working till midnight tonight, and on call until 9 AM, but hopefully it will be a quiet night.
For the past few days, I’ve been reviewing my old notes from college, as I’ve got the itch to become CCNA certified. After checking a few pages, I realized that I’ll have to work pretty hard to get some stuff back in my head, and that some of it will be more than just a review.
I’m also planning on taking a refresher course in October, but that has not been approved yet. I don’t quite have a game plan as of when I plan on taking this test, simply because there are too many unknown variables. My former instructor at WTC said I could probably come practice at the school’s lab, but they are closed for the summer, so I haven’t been able to set anything in stone with him.
What I do know, though, is that I will be going with the two-exam way. Yes, it will take me longer, but that way I can review and practice my stuff more thoroughly. I’m hoping this will be the first of many Cisco certifications, so I’m making sure I know the basics before taking the tests, and before trying to even think of ever getting a CCNP or CCNA Voice. Also, I would hate to be called a paper CCNA.
